The Smell of Iron Monster (2023)
The experimental film 'The Smell of Iron Monsters' is a the three-person play conceived as a fable critical of capitalism, containing fantastically absurd and threateningly real moments. A baobab tree, which also marks the location of the action in a piece of unspoilt African nature, a Thomson's gazelle and a grey parrot are at the center of the film. The three protagonists embody salespeople who trade in abstract goods such as feelings and hyperobjects – Timothy Morton uses this to describe things between nature and culture whose effects are beyond our comprehension (for example global warming). In the course of their surreal pitch meeting, they deviate into profound conversations about human nature and eventually even question their very existence.enter text here
